there’s a lot of situations that are frustrating but that you can’t change. it sounds dumb but you can’t change the past. so i think the only thing you can do is accept them and move on. we’ll see how that goes.
paradigm shift?
Posted in Uncategorized on August 2, 2009 by benjerosaso many people say they believe in Jesus. that’s all there is to do right? but what if that’s not all? how would it look if everyone who ‘believes in Jesus’ took it a step farther and believed like Jesus. our love for Jesus shouldn’t be just us saying and reflecting on how much we love him. obviously this is important, but you know what they say: imitation is the highest form of flattery. Jesus provided us with examples of what to do in all kinds of situations. so wouldn’t it be interesting if we believed in the same ideas and truths that Jesus did? read the gospels and don’t just be more in love with Jesus, be more like him. don’t just believe in him, believe like him.
catch 22
Posted in ravings on July 12, 2009 by benjerosathere’s certain situations where you want to do something, however noble or good, but for a different reason then you should ( i won’t go as far as a bad reason). but you also feel like you won’t do it without that strong motivation. so there’s a problem. what do you do? use that desire to accomplish your goal and let the ends justify the means? or do you not do it because of the ‘incorrect motivation’? and what about the guilt of needing that motivation in the first place? how do you remove that motivation, however strong or important to you? can you really ever get it out of your mind or do you just pretend that it’s not the reason? who knows.
maybe i just need to erase a little.
disclaimer
Posted in Uncategorized on July 10, 2009 by benjerosai think i decided to write about all kinds of weird things. things i think of when i’m sitting at home alone, after seeing an old friend, after finishing 10 hours of work… whenever. so here comes the purpose of this post. don’t expect any of this to be eloquent, poetic, rational, etc. it may at times be aligned with one or more of these qualities but i’m not making any promises. moral of the story: anything can happen!
